The highly trained staff at The Barkley understands that some of our guests may have special needs. Please feel free to discuss any special requirements with us when you make your reservation – as we will do everything in our power to make sure your pet is taken care of and provided for.
The following is a sampling of special needs that can be accommodated (charges may apply):
The Barkley advises against boarding guests that have a terminal illness and are in the late stages of that illness.
The health and safety of our guests is our number one priority. We consult with our Veterinarian Advisory Board in order to continuously update our policies and to provide the best, affordable care available. All of our pet guests’ medical records, personality profiles, and special needs are carefully recorded to ensure a safe and healthful visit. Our staff of animal care professionals is trained for emergencies and we are strategically located within 1/2 mile of the VCA 24-hour emergency clinic. Please note: All guests must meet our published health and temperament standards.
The Barkley will administer oral and topical medications at $1.50 per administration. Guests requiring specialized care are handled on a case-by-case basis. All medications shall be provided by owner, clearly labeled and must include written instructions with pet’s name, type of medication, reason for medication, dosage, and administration schedule.
